Madden NFL 12 for Android and iOS: The Sign of a Changing Mobile Games Market

Recent growth in high-end smartphone games has seen the exclusive release of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit and equally importantly Gameloft has unveiled a new Android HD+ gamers club. It involves members having access to a new Gameloft game to download every week, providing they pay the £0.99 weekly subscription. Worth noting is that it is currently working on the upcoming release of Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation. But it is this week’s release of Madden NFL 12 on the Android market that is really exciting. Interestingly the release comes after Need for Speed was released exclusively via its Flexion store. The release of NFL 12 on Android really signifies the importance that developers are placing on smartphones. The graphics-heavy release demonstrates EA Sports expansion onto mobile devices (high-end Android devices to be precise). But nonetheless, it is progress in the right direction. Progress that many experts had previously written off, suggesting that mobile gaming would struggle to make the transition into a more graphic demanding gaming realm.

Developers are definately seeing the value of the mobile gaming market. The price of the game on these mobile devices is considerably lower than any conventional console version.
